Annual Christmas greetings to the Innsbruck Children’s Hospital

We have had a special connection with the Innsbruck Children’s Hospital for many years. It is a project close to our hearts, and together with our athletes such as Stefan Kraft and Michael Hayböck, we have already made numerous children’s eyes light up with visits to the “little heroes” in the past.

This year, we were once again keen to bring a special Christmas greeting to the Innsbruck Children’s Hospital. Together with “Bio vom Berg” managing director Björn Rasmus, Patrick Murnig and Nordic combined athlete Johannes Lamparter surprised the patients, nurses and doctors with “tasty” gifts made from regional produce.

A small gift for the little “heroes” and for the staff, who do an incredible job with their tireless commitment and inspiring team spirit!”The little heroes and the entire team at the children’s hospital are doing an incredible job. I’m delighted to be here today and I hope that the gifts will help make some children’s eyes light up.”

“The little heroes and heroines and the entire team at the paediatric clinic are doing an incredible job. I’m delighted to be able to join them today and I hope that the gifts will help make some children’s eyes light up,” says overall World Cup winner Johannes Lamparter.

Patrick Murnig, co-founder of the “Friends of Innsbruck Children’s Hospital”, is also delighted: “We have been visiting the children’s hospital at Christmas for many years to give the gift of time, laugh together or simply have a chat. The commitment shown here every day by Dr Thomas Müller and his team deserves the highest recognition. A big thank you goes to everyone who supports our kids(e)motion projects throughout the year – including those who buy items from the JumpandReach Spirit collection. It is this support that makes many things possible.”

“Kids meet their Idols” – Kids meet their stars 2023

Under the motto ” fun and play with the idols of the Nordic Combined”, the “Kids meet their Idols” took place this year for the first time in summer, as no event was possible at the traditional date at the end of winter due to lack of snow. Many enthusiastic girls and boys from all over the Tyrol again had the opportunity to be close to their great idols from the Nordic combined and to complete sporting practice stations together.

As in previous years, the event was organized in the region of Seefeld – Tyrol’s high plateau, in the spirit of a “come-together”, and took place in the Arena Seefeld, the venue of the “Nordic Combined Triple”.

Johannes Lamparter, the 21-year-old overall World Cup winner and winner of the 10th “Nordic Combined Triple” in Seefeld 2023, as well as his combination colleagues Christian Deuschl and Florian Kolb were already part of this event as children and now proudly acted as role models and coaches for the youngsters. The team of the Nordic combined athletes was completed by the World Championship medal winner Lisa Hirner as well as Lukas Greiderer, Mani Cooper (GB) and Sebastian Brandner. The children had a lot of fun with ski rolling, hurdle jumping and in speed competitions with the athletes. They picked up valuable tips, asked many questions and listened intently to the stories of the “big stars”.

At the end of the day, the kids enjoyed regional and sustainably produced delicacies from Bio vom Berg and had the opportunity to admire trophies and medals up close, touch them and get autograph cards and selfies with the athletes.

It was a day entirely in the spirit of the kids(e)motion initiative, which once again helps to sustainably inspire and motivate children for exercise!

Christmas greetings to the Innsbruck Children’s Hospital

For many years we have had a special relationship with the Innsbruck Children’s Hospital, which is very close to our hearts. In the past, the visits of Stefan Kraft, Michael Hayböck and Co. made numerous children’s eyes light up.

Since a visit in this form is not yet possible again, we brought a Christmas greeting to the Innsbruck Children’s Hospital, as in previous years. Together with “Bio vom Berg” chairman Simon Wolf, Patrick Murnig and the two Nordic combined athletes Johannes Lamparter and Christian Deuschl surprised the patients, nurses and doctors with “tasty” gifts made from regional produce.

A small gift for the little “heroes” and for the staff, who do an incredible job with their tireless commitment and inspiring team spirit!

Double world champion Johannes Lamparter (Nordic combined):

“The kids at the children’s hospital are all little heroes and heroines. And everyone around them is also doing incredible things. I’m delighted to be able to be there today and hope that the presents will lead to some shining children’s eyes.”

Patrick Murnig (Founder JumpandReach):

“For many years now, we have been visiting the children’s hospital time and again to give time, laugh, or just chat. What is done here every day by the staff around Dr Thomas Müller cannot be honoured highly enough.

I would like to thank everyone who supports our kids(e)motion projects throughout the year – including by buying “parts” of the JumpandReach Spirit collection – this makes a lot of things possible for us.”

“St. Nicholas present” for the SV Absam

During Advent, we visited our junior team, SV Absam, and handed over a “Nikolosackl” to the hard-working athletes. The kids were delighted with the great surprise sack from Bio vom Berg, filled with regional delicacies. So they went into the next training session well strengthened and full of motivation!

We are very pleased that the coaches also pay attention to values such as team spirit, respect and motivation, which are communicated during training. Only in this way the children can learn which values are important in sport and in life.

kids(e)motion visiting an organic farm

As always, the traditional “JumpandReach for friends” included one important programme item: the children of our youth development programme kids(e)motion spent an instructive and fun afternoon together with their idols Stefan Kraft, Johannes Lamparter, Michael Hayböck and Christian Deuschl. This year, the young sports enthusiasts from NMS Absam and SV Absam went to the organic farm “Biohof Lumperer” from “BIO vom BERG” to learn more about healthy food from the region together with the athletes.

In the greenhouse and on the pepper field, the focus was on answering numerous curious questions, with both athletes and children learning a lot about important values such as sustainability, fairness and regionality. After a detour to the pigsty, the cheerful group was invited to the buffet – carrots, kohlrabi, radishes and co. – the healthy snack was eaten in no time.

Of course, the kids then took the opportunity to get tips on nutrition and training from the Nordic sports stars. The autograph and selfie hunters didn’t miss out either and secured a “lasting memory” of a great day with their role models.

“It’s really great when you see all the healthy food that can be grown right on our doorstep!” said Johannes Lamparter. “It’s even nicer, of course, when you can make the topic of regionality tangible to children in this fun way and be a role model for them.”

Ski jumper Michael Hayböck was delighted: “It was really an interesting excursion and I’m happy to see that even the kids are looking at where the food comes from!”

The whole day with the children was noticeably marked by the “JumpandReach Spirit“, as values such as team spirit, friendship, respect, passion and fun were lived and passed on by all.

“Kids meet their Idols” – Kids meet their stars 2022

At the “Kids meet their Idols” this year, about 60 children had once again the opportunity to be very close to their stars of the Nordic Combined at a special cross-country skiing training session. The girls and boys from various Tyrolean ski clubs were able to train at the different stations with the Nordic Combined athletes of the Austrian National Team, ask questions, get valuable tips and pick up some tricks.

Once again, the focus was on the fun of sports and exercise as well as spending an exciting time together on the cross-country track. Both the pros and the young talents showed great commitment and ambition.

The coaches were double World Champion Johannes Lamparter, Olympic medal winner Lukas Greiderer, Christian Deuschl, Florian Kolb and Manuel Einkemmer. The majority of them had already been part of “Kids meet their Idols” as children and could now pass on their experience as coaches to the “stars of tomorrow”. A nice story that clearly shows what can be achieved with enthusiasm for sports and perseverance.

After the cross-country skiing program, everyone received a goodie bag from Bio vom Berg, filled with various regional specialties. In addition, all children had the opportunity to take photos with their idols and get autographs.

Once again, it was an all-around successful day in the sense of the kids(e)motion initiative, which has helped to continue to inspire children for more exercise and which will certainly remain in their memories for a long time.

Johannes Lamparter: “I was a participant in 2013 when I was 11 years old, which has remained a lasting memory for me. Willi Denifl, Christoph Bieler and Lukas Klapfer were our “role models” and coaches back then and we were incredibly proud to be able to practice with them. When you see again today how much fun the kids have, it’s really great for our cool sport. It’s nice to be able to make a difference as a role model and hopefully give the little ones some good tips and a good dose of motivation.”

Patrick Murnig: “We are happy that this year we could almost run our “Kids meet their Idols” again under normal circumstances. These children’s projects are very important to us. They reflect everything that would be good for our society as a whole: Togetherness, supporting each other, being role models and, above all, treating each other with respect.”

“I would especially like to thank the athletes who gave the children an unforgettable day with a lot of humor and casual exercises. The commitment, motivation and fun of exercise were clearly visible to everyone involved. As the story of Johannes Lamparter showed, a future world champion or a future Olympic Champion could have been there this year. But what is much more important is that everyone had fun and will continue to do so for a long time to come.”

Welcome to the JumpandReach family, SV Absam U12!

The soccer players of the U11 of SV Absam are the newest members of the kids(e)motion initiative of JumpandReach. Already in previous years, one junior team from Absam was always supported, which is now clearing the way for a younger generation. The youth work at SV Absam is a successful example of what extensive and effective support for young talent can look like. Because it is not only about sporting success, but also about giving the children something personally – team spirit, commitment and fun are always at the top of the list.

The kids(e)motion initiative has set itself the goal of supporting children and getting them excited about sports and exercise. Through the unique concept, children should receive the best possible sporting and, above all, personal support. Sporting success is of secondary importance, the focus of kids(e)motion is on personal development. The joy of movement and sport is important, as is the teaching values such as fairness, respect, ambition and discipline. This strengthens personality development, self-confidence and social skills. In the future, joint projects will again be implemented in order to convey the fun of sports to the children and to enable an exchange with their role models.

JumpandReach founder Patrick Murnig: “Getting children excited about sports in the long term and encouraging them in their goals has always been a major priority for us. However, personality development and the teaching of important values such as respect, friendship and team spirit are always important to us. I’m delighted to be continuing our long-term cooperation with SV Absam into the third generation, as their work with young talent is absolutely in line with our values.”

“Bio vom Berg” is a new partner for the JumpandReach children’s projects around the kids(e)motion initiative

As a partner of JumpandReach, Bio vom Berg will actively support our work for and with children. As part of our kids(e)motion initiative, which brings together all children’s projects, the Tyrolean company will reaffirm our commitment and numerous activities, such as the “Kids meet their Idols” and the promotion of young talent.

The shared values of Bio vom Berg and JumpandReach, such as fairness, respect and regional and social commitment, form a great basis for cooperation.

“That is why we are very pleased that we have“ Bio vom Berg ”at our side as a strong and committed partner. In addition to “getting children moving”, the issues of healthy eating and the sustainable use of food have always been of central importance to us – and here too we want to create a role model for the kids. “Bio vom Berg” promotes and supports this idea and lets us act even more strongly with their commitment”, says JumpandReach founder Patrick Murnig.

kids(e)motion hiking day with the JaR family

Again this year, the now traditional JumpandReach for friends took place. Together with their idols Stefan Kraft, Johannes Lamparter, Chiara Kreuzer, Dominik Terzer, Christian Deuschl, Marco Pichlmayer and Benjamin Pranter the children of the JumpandReach youth development kids(e)motion – kids from clubs in Salzburg and Tyrol – were able to spend an exciting and sporty day in the mountains. During a joint hike to the “Kaltwassersee” and afterwards to the “Hochegg Alm”, the kids had enough time to get to know their role models personally, including photos, selfies and autographs.

In addition to the hike, the common “fun” was on the program and the “young wild ones” challenged the JaR athletes at “Spike Ball”, volleyball or frisbee. After a delicious snack of Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn, the group headed back down into the valley. So the children could spend an unforgettable and eventful day hiking together with their role models and enjoy the wonderful view of the surrounding mountain scenery.

Stefan Kraft: “We have been coming together here at JumpandReach for friends for many years now. It’s a fixed point that I always enjoy coming to. The hike today with the kids was really great. They asked a lot of interesting questions and made us sweat quite nicely during volleyball, spikeball & co. ;-).”

Johannes Lamparter: “The days at this year’s JumpandReach for friends were great. The kids were highly motivated and really pestered me with questions, and when I can pass on tips to them with my answers, it’s a really great thing for me. Getting kids into sport is simply good for them and we all really enjoyed it together.”

Chiara Hölzl: “This family reunion was once again more than successful. Especially the hike with the kids was really nice and the kids were super interested and asked quite eagerly. Many smiling children’s faces in dream weather, that was more than fun not only for the kids, but also for me and my dog “Carla” ;-)”

Kids meet their Nordic Combined athletes 2021

“Getting children in motion” is an initiative launched by Patrick Murnig over 12 years ago, which tries to be a cool role model and supporter for children in matters of sport with numerous supported children’s projects and own incentives. Kids meet their Idols “- The cross-country training with the idols of the Nordic combination”, as one of the projects, has been organized as cross-country training afternoons for the XC- skiing kids of Nordic clubs (especially in western Austria) for over 10 years. Active athletes and coaches are a very essential part of this special afternoon every year.

Patrick Murnig and his JumpandReach team have tried, also in this special and challenging year, to set up this very special kind of cross-country training for children between the ages of 8 and 14 with the greatest possible care. This year – in accordance with all currently applicable regulations – (all those involved (including the kids) were tested for Corona in advance, divided into individual training groups of a maximum of 10 children and KEEPING DISTANCE was the order of the day. Therefore, there was nothing in the way for a great training for the almost 50 children with their idols around double world champion Johannes Lamparter. Among other things, the kids were able to compete at the stations “target sprint”, “parcours”, “slalom”, “ascent & descent” and at the station “ski-jumping hill” and get valuable tips and put their skills to the test there.

The 19-year-old double world champion Johannes Lamparter, as well as his combination colleagues Dominik Terzer, Christian Deuschl and Florian Kolb were already part of this cross-country afternoon as kids and are now proud role models and coaches for the youngsters themselves. With Willi Denifl and Christoph “Bieler” there are also two current coaches from the Austrian combined athletes team, who have been active athletes as role models and coaches for the children over and over again.

Patrick Murnig (JumpandReach): “You need to be careful with the virus, and beyond that we should try to take things into our own hands, especially when it comes to the children. AND for this reason, it is important to me that we continue to implement our children’s projects as well as possible, especially now – within the specifications and with the greatest possible care. Already 12 months ago some kids were sad because we had to cancel this little event after 10 years. That’s why it was clear to me that we would do everything possible – within the current requirements – to organize and implement this cross-country training this year, even if it was a lot of effort. But every child, for whom we continue to model the joy of sport, will leave here really motivated and continue to have fun with the exercise and then everything will be fine 😉 This year it is great to see with how much commitment the Kids but also their “coaches” are involved and live this cool and complex sport together. In this sense, a big thank you goes to the athletes who did it great with a lot of humor and casual exercises and so prepared such an unforgettable day to the children. ”

Johannes Lamparter: I was there in 2013 when I was 11 years old. Willi Denifl, Christoph Bieler and Lukas Klapfer were our “role models” and coaches back then. I can still remember it well – I was so proud, it was really cool. When you see with how much joy the kids are there, then it is really great, because you have the feeling that you can set something in motion as a role model. You can feel that here and it feels great. I hope we were able to give the little ones some useful tips, motivate them and get them even more excited about this casual sport.”
