“Kids meet their Idols” – Kids meet their stars 2022

At the “Kids meet their Idols” this year, about 60 children had once again the opportunity to be very close to their stars of the Nordic Combined at a special cross-country skiing training session. The girls and boys from various Tyrolean ski clubs were able to train at the different stations with the Nordic Combined athletes of the Austrian National Team, ask questions, get valuable tips and pick up some tricks.

Once again, the focus was on the fun of sports and exercise as well as spending an exciting time together on the cross-country track. Both the pros and the young talents showed great commitment and ambition.

The coaches were double World Champion Johannes Lamparter, Olympic medal winner Lukas Greiderer, Christian Deuschl, Florian Kolb and Manuel Einkemmer. The majority of them had already been part of “Kids meet their Idols” as children and could now pass on their experience as coaches to the “stars of tomorrow”. A nice story that clearly shows what can be achieved with enthusiasm for sports and perseverance.

After the cross-country skiing program, everyone received a goodie bag from Bio vom Berg, filled with various regional specialties. In addition, all children had the opportunity to take photos with their idols and get autographs.

Once again, it was an all-around successful day in the sense of the kids(e)motion initiative, which has helped to continue to inspire children for more exercise and which will certainly remain in their memories for a long time.

Johannes Lamparter: “I was a participant in 2013 when I was 11 years old, which has remained a lasting memory for me. Willi Denifl, Christoph Bieler and Lukas Klapfer were our “role models” and coaches back then and we were incredibly proud to be able to practice with them. When you see again today how much fun the kids have, it’s really great for our cool sport. It’s nice to be able to make a difference as a role model and hopefully give the little ones some good tips and a good dose of motivation.”

Patrick Murnig: “We are happy that this year we could almost run our “Kids meet their Idols” again under normal circumstances. These children’s projects are very important to us. They reflect everything that would be good for our society as a whole: Togetherness, supporting each other, being role models and, above all, treating each other with respect.”

“I would especially like to thank the athletes who gave the children an unforgettable day with a lot of humor and casual exercises. The commitment, motivation and fun of exercise were clearly visible to everyone involved. As the story of Johannes Lamparter showed, a future world champion or a future Olympic Champion could have been there this year. But what is much more important is that everyone had fun and will continue to do so for a long time to come.”
