kids(e)motion visiting an organic farm

As always, the traditional “JumpandReach for friends” included one important programme item: the children of our youth development programme kids(e)motion spent an instructive and fun afternoon together with their idols Stefan Kraft, Johannes Lamparter, Michael Hayböck and Christian Deuschl. This year, the young sports enthusiasts from NMS Absam and SV Absam went to the organic farm “Biohof Lumperer” from “BIO vom BERG” to learn more about healthy food from the region together with the athletes.

In the greenhouse and on the pepper field, the focus was on answering numerous curious questions, with both athletes and children learning a lot about important values such as sustainability, fairness and regionality. After a detour to the pigsty, the cheerful group was invited to the buffet – carrots, kohlrabi, radishes and co. – the healthy snack was eaten in no time.

Of course, the kids then took the opportunity to get tips on nutrition and training from the Nordic sports stars. The autograph and selfie hunters didn’t miss out either and secured a “lasting memory” of a great day with their role models.

“It’s really great when you see all the healthy food that can be grown right on our doorstep!” said Johannes Lamparter. “It’s even nicer, of course, when you can make the topic of regionality tangible to children in this fun way and be a role model for them.”

Ski jumper Michael Hayböck was delighted: “It was really an interesting excursion and I’m happy to see that even the kids are looking at where the food comes from!”

The whole day with the children was noticeably marked by the “JumpandReach Spirit“, as values such as team spirit, friendship, respect, passion and fun were lived and passed on by all.
