Kids meet their Nordic Combined athletes 2021

“Getting children in motion” is an initiative launched by Patrick Murnig over 12 years ago, which tries to be a cool role model and supporter for children in matters of sport with numerous supported children’s projects and own incentives. Kids meet their Idols “- The cross-country training with the idols of the Nordic combination”, as one of the projects, has been organized as cross-country training afternoons for the XC- skiing kids of Nordic clubs (especially in western Austria) for over 10 years. Active athletes and coaches are a very essential part of this special afternoon every year.

Patrick Murnig and his JumpandReach team have tried, also in this special and challenging year, to set up this very special kind of cross-country training for children between the ages of 8 and 14 with the greatest possible care. This year – in accordance with all currently applicable regulations – (all those involved (including the kids) were tested for Corona in advance, divided into individual training groups of a maximum of 10 children and KEEPING DISTANCE was the order of the day. Therefore, there was nothing in the way for a great training for the almost 50 children with their idols around double world champion Johannes Lamparter. Among other things, the kids were able to compete at the stations “target sprint”, “parcours”, “slalom”, “ascent & descent” and at the station “ski-jumping hill” and get valuable tips and put their skills to the test there.

The 19-year-old double world champion Johannes Lamparter, as well as his combination colleagues Dominik Terzer, Christian Deuschl and Florian Kolb were already part of this cross-country afternoon as kids and are now proud role models and coaches for the youngsters themselves. With Willi Denifl and Christoph “Bieler” there are also two current coaches from the Austrian combined athletes team, who have been active athletes as role models and coaches for the children over and over again.

Patrick Murnig (JumpandReach): “You need to be careful with the virus, and beyond that we should try to take things into our own hands, especially when it comes to the children. AND for this reason, it is important to me that we continue to implement our children’s projects as well as possible, especially now – within the specifications and with the greatest possible care. Already 12 months ago some kids were sad because we had to cancel this little event after 10 years. That’s why it was clear to me that we would do everything possible – within the current requirements – to organize and implement this cross-country training this year, even if it was a lot of effort. But every child, for whom we continue to model the joy of sport, will leave here really motivated and continue to have fun with the exercise and then everything will be fine 😉 This year it is great to see with how much commitment the Kids but also their “coaches” are involved and live this cool and complex sport together. In this sense, a big thank you goes to the athletes who did it great with a lot of humor and casual exercises and so prepared such an unforgettable day to the children. ”

Johannes Lamparter: I was there in 2013 when I was 11 years old. Willi Denifl, Christoph Bieler and Lukas Klapfer were our “role models” and coaches back then. I can still remember it well – I was so proud, it was really cool. When you see with how much joy the kids are there, then it is really great, because you have the feeling that you can set something in motion as a role model. You can feel that here and it feels great. I hope we were able to give the little ones some useful tips, motivate them and get them even more excited about this casual sport.”

“Carnival greetings” for the children’s hospital of Innsbruck

The JumpandReach family has been supporting the children’s hospital of Innsbruck for many years. The annual visits by Stefan Kraft, Michael Hayböck and Co. made the children’s eyes shine every time. Due to the Corona-related precautionary measures, unfortunately this year it was not possible to give the children time to chat, laugh and play with them.

For this reason there was – adapted to these particular times – a very special “carnival greeting” from the JumpandReach family together with Manner for the children’s hospital of Innsbruck. The staff and, as a result, the children were delighted with the delicious delicacies.

With this in mind, a huge THANK YOU goes to each and every one for their tireless commitment to the kids at the children’s hospital! This is perhaps even more important this year than in many years before!

Kids(e)motion goes Red Bull Salzburg vs. WSG Swarovski Tirol

This year again JumpandReach had a nice present for the kids of our kids(e)motion team SV Thaur U-11 as a “pre-Christmas-special”. They got the special chance to be escort kids at the game Red Bull Salzburg versus WSG Swarovski Tirol, which was also the last home game of the ongoing season.

The day started at the Bullidikidz area in the stadium zone, where the young participants had the chance to show their skills at the target shooting and speed-check stations. Additionally, there were a lot of activities to do inside such as tabletop football or juggling. The great atmosphere got heated up when the “Nikolaus” came by for a short visit and also the first interviews with the kids were done.

After the warm-up, the preparations for the highlight of the day started. From the beginning on the kids were full of energy and their excitement was clearly noticeable. With their eyes full of expectation the kids were allowed to wait in the players’ tunnel where they couldn’t wait to get a “high five” with all the players. Then their dream, walking into a big stadium in front of thousands of fans hand in hand with one of their idols, came true for the kids from SV Thaur U-11.

After the big moment, the atmosphere was great on the stands as well – even though the one or other young fan was cheering for the luckless Tyrolians. With nothing but happy faces, the kids left Salzburg heading home. It was a great day which will stay in the heads of all participants for quite a long time.

Sparkling children’s eyes at the special Pizza dinner with the JumpandReach athletes

The last weekend the annual JumpandReach for friends took place: A cosy come-together of the whole Jumpandreach family, where of course we didn’t want to miss out on our young talents of SV Absam, SV Thaur and FC Nüziders.

This special evening afforded the opportunity for the young talents of the jumpandreach promotion of young athletes to get some useful tips from the JaR-athletes Stefan Kraft, Michael Hayböck, Johannes Lamparter, Dominik Terzer and Christian Deuschl and to ask them, what they always wanted to know about professional sports.

The exciting evening ended with everyone eating ice cream and some great showed card tricks by the kids. An evening, which definitely will stay in the minds for a long time.

New addition to the JaR young athletes support – Welcome FC Nüziders U11

With our campaign to promote children and young sport talents, a special project was initiated a couple years ago. The unique concept is about supporting youth teams, which do outstanding work  in order to ensure the best possible sportive and personal development of their kids. With FC Nüziders U11 we proudly welcome another team to the JumpandReach family!

For JumpandReach the major point in choosing a team for our special support project, is not primarily the sportive accomplishment – the teaching of values like fairness, discipline, ambition and respect and an intensive support of young talents are most important to us. In all these points, FC Nüziders U11 sets a good example and therefore fits perfectly into our JumpandReach family.

JaR founder Patrick Murnig: „It has always been important to us to accompany children and young athletes in one or the other way and to support them in accomplishing their goals. Therefore we are very happy to contribute in the development of young athletes! We are glad to have FC Nüziders from Vorarlberg with us!“

Kids meet their idols 2019

This year the special cross-country skiing afternoon themed „Kids meet their Idols“ went into its sixth round. Kids from different Tyrolian skiing-clubs were invited and of course the Nordic combined athletes of the Austrian national team took part in this special event again.

Almost 60 young talents took the chance to meet their idols on this afternoon and to catch some useful tips and tricks. With lots of games, fun and sports they spent an exciting cross-country skiing afternoon with the Nordic combination athletes, which were at least as motivated and ambitious as the young talents.

The bronze medallist from the world championships Mario Seidl and Lukas Klapfer, Lukas Greiderer, junior world champion Johannes Lamparter and many more took their time for the „stars of tomorrow“ and shared a lot of tips and tricks with them.

Johannes Lamparter and Dominik Terzer – originally young  participants of the „Kids meet their Idols“ themselves – returned this year as proud bearers of several junior world championship medals to share their experience with the young talents. A great story, which had it’s beginning in some of the first JumpandReach „Kids meet their Idols“.

After the sports program the kids had time for a personal meet-and-greet with their idols of the Nordic combined team and took pictures, selfies and autographs.

Mario Seidl: “I have been part of „Kids meet their Idols“ many times and it‘s really great to see how ambitious the young talents are. I like it to contribute to motivating children to exercise and to be outside and of course work on their dreams. I think it’s a great thing.“

Johannes Lamparter: “For me the „Kids meet their Idols“ is very special in two ways. First, I really enjoy seeing with how much fun and motivation the young talents participate and how they look up to us. Second, I had a lot of fun myself here a few years ago as a young talent and enjoyed the training with Willi, Bieles and co. It’s an indescribable feeling  to train the children alongside with them now and to jump and cross-country ski with them in the World cup, like this year.”

Patrick Murnig (JumpandReach): “JumpandReach has set itself the objective to motivate children for sports and to support young talents. Therefore we are really happy about our „Kids meet their Idols“ being such a great success every year. And that the event serves for motivating kids to keep working on their dreams in the most important years. A big thanks goes to the athletes, who do a really great job with the kids. As you can see, they do not miss out on the fun either.”

Kids(e)motion goes RB Salzburg vs. SCR Altach ⚽️

On this Sunday Rauch Fruchtsäfte and JumpandReach had a very special treat for the kids of the JumpandReach “Young Athletes Support”. Our winners of the the kids(e)motion challenge presented by Rauch had the chance to experience a day they won’t forget for quite some time.

After their win, the children of the youth team of FC Nüziders had the opportunity to be “Escort-Kids” at the home game of Redbull Salzburg vs. SCR Altach. The day started at the “Bullidikidz-Arena” just next to the stadium. Besides a goal-shooting contest and a challenge with speed measurement, the kids had the chance to get one of the popular autographs of our kids(e)motion ambassador Lis Raudaschl.

After the warming up program, it was time to prepare for the highlight of the day. One could really feel the joy and excitement when the kids were waiting wide-eyed in the players’ tunnel for a high-five with their stars. Then, finally their dreams came true and they escorted their idols onto the pitch, in front of thousands of fans in the stands.

Full of adrenaline after that moment to remember, the kids were supporting the team with drums and chants from their seats. All in all, it was a day that everyone involved won’t forget anytime soon.

Addition to the JaR young athletes support – Welcome SV Thaur U11

With our campaign to promote young people, a special project was initiated a couple years ago. The unique concept is there to support youth teams in there excellent work, for the perfect athletic and personal developement. With the SV Thaur U11 we welcome another team to the JumpandReach-family.

When we support a team, it is not about the success in sports but rather first of all to convey kids and young people fun about motion and sports and as well to support them in their personal development by conveying them values like ambition, fairness, discipline and respect.

The SV Thaur is a great example when it comes to working with kids and promoting them. This is why the club is already part of our campaign for some years now. And now the U11 Team is our newest member.

JaR founder Patrick Murnig: “It has always been our matter, to support and accompany kids and young athletes on their own way. Therefore we are very glad, that we are able to make a contribution to their development. We are delighted to have a team like the U11 of the SV Thaur now as well on board.”

Football afternoon in Seefeld

This year again, the annual JumpandReach for friends took place in the Olympic region Seefeld, with the upcoming Nordic World Ski Championship making it a special occasion.

On this Saturday afternoon, directly in front of the championship ski jump in Seefeld, the focus was on the kids of the JumpandReach youth development. After the welcoming, the action started immediately with a two vs. two tournament in the Energie AG football cage. Besides the kids competing against each other, they also had the opportunity to step up against their idols around Stefan Kraft and Michael Hayböck. Like every year, our athletes gladly took the opportunity to be part of the event. Apart from the football cage, there were many other attractions, like a penalty shootout, a juggling competition and a crossbar challenge, where the kids proved their skills against each other and the JaR athletes. At the following show training of the goalkeepers of the Tyrolian football academy, the little ones could get an insight into the impressive training routines of professional keepers. The jump exercises of our “goalkeeper coaches” Michi Hayböck and Stefan Kraft left the kids astonished.

The final seven vs. seven match with the whole JumpandReach family and an amazing atmosphere from the outside, gave the kids another chance to be on the pitch with their idols. Of course in the end everybody had the opportunity to get a selfie or an autograph with their stars.

All in all it was a really successful event again for kids and athletes that will stay in their minds for quite some time.

Our Kids at the national football match Austria against Russia

At the 30th of May the Austrian national team played their friendly match against the WC host Russia in Innsbruck. In a sold-out Tivoli stadium our kids of the JumpandReach young athletes support promotion cheered for the Austrian national team.

Before the game the excitement was already great. Stocked up with Austrian scarfs and flags the children set off to their places. From the beginning on the kids contributed to the great atmosphere in the Tivoli stadium. This certainly was one reason why in the end our national team won 1:0.

Altogether it was a great and fun evening for the children and their Coaches.
